GPSR - update
Dear Yarn Friends
Good News!! - We are now GPSR Compliant
I’m re-opening sales to EU, BUT only for yarn, all other products can only be sold to the UK domestic market and Rest of the World excluding EU.
With the scope and breadth of these new regulations affecting nearly ALL products that enter the EU, there will most likely be teething problems as everyone acclimates to the new rules of engagement. To minimise any problems I have appointed an EU Authorised Representative, this is also a requirement to ensure we are compliant with GPSR.
Product Safety information & Safety Data Sheets for all products manufactured by us, along with components used within the manufacturing process ie dyes, mordants, washes are published either electronically via this website, and/or on the label/packaging with each product sold into the EU. Please bear with me while new Product labels are redesigned to accommodate the extra information.
As this is unexpected extra work to undertake I’ve had to delay a Yarn Set project I had planned to launch next week until this work is finalised. I hope to launch the sets at our next event, Waltham Abbey Wool Show, WAWS in January 2025.
So to re-iterate, sales are open to the EU but only for yarn.
Apologies, but for the time being, Tote bags, stichmarkers and enamel pins, (I was just about to launch a couple of new designs of tote bags in the new year), cannot be sold to customers in the EU.
what we do…
We are a small female run yarn company, specialising in unique hand dyed yarn, nestled into a dye shack on the edge of London, UK.
All our yarns are kettle dyed in small batches by Leila, the founder of the company, who takes inspiration from the vast, historical, busy and beautiful city of London, as well as her other numerous interests of the mythical, fantastical and cosmic kind.
Our yarn is sourced mainly from Britain or in the case of merino stock from a small holding consortium in South America where they don’t practice ‘mulesing’, we believe our patronage helps support the small holding farmers both here in the UK and in South America, which are vital part of local communities and regional economies.
The yarn range we carry consists of soft, smooth fibres such as Yak, Silk, Merino, Linen and Cashmere blends. These fibres are known to be kind on the skin, perfect for knitting and crochet. We love the rustic wooliness of a Corriedale, Zwartbles or Hebridean mix and may well add them to our stock in the future.
